Assalam alikum wa rahmatu Allah wabarkatuhu
Dear respected parents/Guardians,
My name is Ghada Abou Louz and I will be the new SK Homeroom Teacher for the 2013/2014 school year. I want to extend to you and your child my warmest welcome into my classroom. My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child develops learning opportunities at different levels.
I have an advanced double major
degree in Microbiology, Immunology and Biology from Dalhousie University,
Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have more than nine years of teaching experience in
Ottawa and six years working at the kindergarten department at Abraar School.
Kindergarten
is a time of a new beginning, of making friends and learning skills that lead
them into being independent individuals. Our days and weeks will be filled with
wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing insha’ Allah.
We will
learn all the letters of the alphabet and their phonemic sounds. We will also
practice our writing and comprehension skills. We will also learn numbers,
building on important math concepts including sorting, counting, graphing,
classifying, patterns, telling time, money, measurement, addition and
subtraction. Families are encouraged to be involved in the learning process by
practicing reading skills with their child on a daily basis, encouraging them
to write and draw.
I believe
that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary to maximize your child’s school success. Throughout the year I will
communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, emails and parent-teacher
conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or
concerns at anytime. Please send me an
email to gaboulouz@abraarschool.com
with the subject titled as your child’s name in order for me to save your
correct emails and form a parent email list. (both parents if possible)
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year with you and your
child insha’ Allah.
Young children learn
as they play and their play is their work.
Kindest regards,
Tr. Ghada
