Dear respected parents/Guardians,
My name is Ghada Abou Louz and I will be the SK Homeroom Teacher for the 2014/2015 school year. I want to extend to you and your child my warmest welcome into my classroom. My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child develops learning opportunities at different levels.
I have an advanced double major
degree in Microbiology, Immunology and Biology from Dalhousie University,
Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have more than nine years of teaching experience in
Ottawa and six years working at the kindergarten department at Abraar School.
Kindergarten
is a time of a new beginning, of making friends and learning skills that lead
them into being independent individuals. Our days and weeks will be filled with
wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing insha’ Allah.
We
will learn all the letters of the alphabet and their phonemic sounds. We will
also practice our writing and comprehension skills. We will also learn numbers,
building on important math concepts including sorting, counting, graphing,
classifying, patterns, telling time, money, measurement, addition and subtraction.
Families are encouraged to be involved in the learning process by practicing
reading skills with their child on a daily basis, encouraging them to write and
draw.
I
believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary to maximize your
child’s school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you
through notes, telephone calls, emails and parent-teacher conferences. I
encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at
anytime. Please send me an email to gaboulouz@abraarschool.com with the
subject titled as your child’s name in order for me to save your correct emails
and form a parent email list. (both parents if possible)
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year with you and your child insha’
Allah.
Young children learn as they play and their play is their work.
