SK1 Weekly Updates: (March 09- March 13)

Assalamu alaykum wa ramatullahi wa barakatuhu Dear Parents,

Inshaa Allah you all enjoyed your time with your loved-ones over the March break.

Below are some updates from our class activities:

Language Arts:

In the Jolly phonic book 5 we covered the following letters, sounds and actions with some examples.

V: pretend to be holding the steering wheel of a van and say vvvvvv

Examples: vest-van-very-drive.

ng: Action: Imagine you are a weight lifter and pretend to lift a heavy weight about your head, saying ng,….

Examples: long, bang, lung, ring, strong.

Math:

We started a new unit (Geometry).We are learning about 2D shapes.

We played a bingo shapes and colours game in class. The Sk1 enjoyed very much this hands on activities game.

We will investigate the relationship between 2 dimensional shapes and 3 dimensional figures.

Computer Class:

Since we are learning about the 2D shapes in math, the students are learning to draw different shapes using Microsoft paint. 

Science:

We finished learning about the food groups and healthy eating.

Islamic Studies:

We are still learning about the five daily prayers. I read the book How to Pray?
We learned the number of rakaat in prayers.

We watched some educational videos about performing Salah.

In addition the kids enjoyed performing salah in the class.

March Du'aa:

اللَّهُمَّ زَيِّنَّا بِزِينَةِ الإِيمَانِ وَاجْعَلْنَا هُدَاةً مُهْتَدِينَ

Allāhumma zayyennā bi zinatel emān waj`alnā hudātan muhtadeen

“O Allah, beautify us with the adornment of faith and make us among those who guide and are rightly guided"

MashaAllah many of the students in sk1 are trying to memorize the dua'a. Way to go SK1.
