Assalamu Alikum,
Dear Parents,
Field Trip: Our field trip to Cosmic Adventures was very
exciting and fun!
children spent the day exploring all the different play
structures at this huge indoor complex. By the end of that day students,
teachers, and volunteers were all ready for a nap!
Thank you to our wonderful field trip volunteers! We could
not have done it without you!
Language Art/phonics:All children are expected to be able to write their name and recognize it.
Al hamdullelh, we finished our first phonic book and we had lots of fun learning the sounds of the following letters S, A, T, I, P and N. Please ask your children about them and watch as they make the sounds and the actions.
Reading buddies:
The reading buddies program has been a huge success
alhamdullelah. InhaAllah we will be continuing this program until the end of
the year.
Islamic studies:
In SK1 we know the importance of reciting specific du’aas
during the day. When leaving our classroom we recite quietly, before entering
the bathroom we recite, before we eat we recite. We learned what to say after
we finish eating and what to say if forgot to say the dua’a.
We will learn what to say before we go to sleep soon
inshaAllah. Please help your child recite these du’aa even in the comfort of
their own home.
Math:
We finished one to one corresponding in counting different
objects and match it with similar groups. The students completed different
worksheets related to this topic.
Science:
We learned about the primary colours and what happens from mixing
these specific colours. We did an exciting experiment in class about the
primary colour using food coloring. The students had the chance to observe and
practice mixing the different colours in their groups. We also learned about
the seconday colours that result from mixing these primary colours. Do not be surprised
if you see them doing this at home!
Art:
We managed to create a beautiful crafts from painting with
the primary colours. This craft was a combination of Science, Art and fun!! Special:

Reminders:
Please make
sure your child has an extra pair of (indoor shoes). Some students do not have
indoor shoes, and they end up bringing a lot of dirt into the classroom with
their outdoor shoes inside the classroom.
Please make
sure your children have an extra change of clothing at school. This includes
socks, undergarments, pants, and a shirt. At this age, there is really no
guarantee that your child will not need an extra change of clothes.
